Kathy Smith

Kathy serves as the administrative assistant to the staff, council, and congregation. She brings a wealth of experience to this role, having previously served in this position more than twelve years ago. She sees her role as that of a servant leader and she is always willing to help anyone who needs it.

Kathy has lived in Pitt Meadows and been a member of Maple Ridge CRC for 33 years. She is a graduate of Dordt College (now University) and Calvin Theological Seminary (Masters of Church Education). Since she last held this AA position, she has also graduated from the three-year Leadership Development Network and worked for six years as the stated clerk of Classis BCNW. After finishing as stated clerk, she realized she wasn't ready to retire. She is looking forward to using her administrative skills to serve the church and community she loves.

When she is not in the office, Kathy can most likely be found at home, spending time with her husband, daughter, and their three dogs. She loves to read, do jigsaw puzzles, walk on the local dykes, kayak, and take online Bible classes. She also likes to try new things and is currently learning dog agility with her Sheltie, Skye. She is on the board of the Ministry to Seafarers Vancouver, volunteers with Pitt Meadows ESS, and donates plasma regularly.
