Alpha is a 12 week practical introduction to the Christian faith. Each evening consists of a delicious dinner, a video, and a time to discuss and build relationships with your table group. We strive to make this a non-threatening place where you can explore Christianity without feeling pressured. We will not be offering the Alpha videos at this time ... instead:
A new video series has come to our attention, which we have decided to use for our Thursday evenings. The evening format will be very much the same as for Alpha. H2o is a new, 10-episode journey of faith, using carefully crafted storytelling designed to reach a media savvy generation. H20 is an evocative, DVD-driven, group oriented experience that is designed to create an atmosphere in which individuals feel comfortable openly considering, and maybe even drinking of the living water, Jesus Christ. Each of the ten episodes leads the viewer through a progression of understanding what a relationship with Christ is all about. H2o tackles the tough issues like sin and the negative preconceptions about Christianity with concern and honesty. H20 is not offered currently. An introductory dessert evening will be held in early fall. Invite a friend if you like. You are encouraged to come to this evening where you will hear more about the H2o course. You do not have to commit to the 10 weeks, but can decide on that evening if you'd like to sign up for the course. There is no cost, and we will served delicious desserts with coffee and tea, and a 20 minute video. The H2o course will begin again late summer/early fall. There are two group options. Please indicate which group you would like to be a part of when you register for the course.
Explorer's Group: Previously our Alpha group, for those exploring Christianity, wanting to learn more, or are fairly new to church. This group will meet for dinner each week at 6:15 pm, followed by a video and a time to ask questions. We would love to host you as our guests. No questions are dumb questions.
Church Group: For those who attend this church or are comfortable in this setting. This group will not meet for dinner, but will meet at 7:00 pm for the video, followed by a dessert and discussion time.
For more information, or to register, email the church office at office@mapleridgecrc.com or call the office at (604) 465-9416.
